The Ministry of Natural Resources believes warmer summers and a
higher amount of deer are to blame for a decrease in the moose population
in the district.
Biologist Scott McAughey says area moose have been affected by various
parasites found on deer as well as mother nature.
McAughey expects the Province to increase the number of available deer
tags for this fall, since the population has exploded.
