MNR Prescribed Burn In Sioux Lookout Area

The Ministry of Natural Resources is preparing to ignite a prescribed burn in the Sioux Lookout District.
It will be in the Horse Lake area, and as a safety precaution, only MNR staff will be allowed within one-kilometre of the site.
Officials say the burn will renew 681 hectares within the Lac Seul Forest, which took a serious hit from mother nature between 2001 and 2007.
In addition, the burn will help restore the health and integrity of the forest, where Caribou are known to live.
