MNR Providing Support

Two fires continue to burn out of control northwest of Red Lake.
Red Lake Fire 24 is a new start about 40-kilometres away and has grown to 300-hectares in size.
The largest fire is Red Lake 31, an 11,615 hectare blaze that continues to grow.
41-fire crews, 8-helicopters and 5-water bombers are working on that very active fire.
There are 41 fires currently burning in northwestern Ontario.
Despite the spike in fire activity, the Ministry of Natural Resources is sending some of its fire crews out of province.
20-firefighters, along with support staff, are being dispatched to lend a hand in the Northwest Territories and Quebec.
