MNRF seek out owners of abandoned gear

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry wants to know who left camping gear and trash at lake northeast of Fort Frances.

Tarps, camping gear and cookware, along with broken chairs, buckets and golf clubs were found on an island on Scattergood Lake.

The lake is a fish sanctuary and is only open to fishing in August.

The MNR says conservation officers nearly filled a 16-foot boat in the cleanup.

Anyone with information can contact Brendan Cote at 807-889-0768.

You can also call the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667, any MNRF office or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
