The crown is recommending a three year jail sentence for former Dryden Gunsmith Bruce Montague.
Crown Attorney, Peter Keen made his arguments in a sentencing hearing this morning in Kenora Court.
Keen says even though Montague has a very good reputation in the community and has no criminal record, some of the
offenses he has been convicted of require a stiff sentence.
He says the making of automatic weapons and filing off the serial numbers from those guns are a serious crime and should be treated as such by the court.
As for Donna Montague, Keen has recommended three years of probation.
She was found guilty of possessing a firearm without a licence.
