Montague Suffers Another Setback

Another defeat for former Dryden gunsmith Bruce Montague. Montague has lost his challenge of Canada’s Criminal Code’s automatic forfeiture provisions.

A judge has ordered that most of his seized weapons should become the property of the Province. The 200 items include dynamite, submachine guns, sawn off shotguns, assault rifles with over capacity magazine, and bullet proof vests.
Montague says he will likely appeal.

The Province says it will continue with action to seize his family home as well. The case goes back to 2004 when Montague was originally jailed and charged with failure to register his firearms. Subsequent charges followed.
