Moose Survey

The Ministry of Natural Resources has completed a moose survey in the
Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Fort Frances, Thunder Bay and Geraldton Districts.
Spokesperson Ted Armstrong says there was no consistent trend in
moose populations across the region with some units stable, some showing
an increase and some showing a decrease.
Armstrong says the calf population appears to be on the rise,
although there are still some areas with low numbers.
Adult moose validation tags for 2008 will be based on the survey.
