Moose Surveys on the Go

The Ministry of Natural Resources is in the process of conducting
Moose survey’s in the Ignace and Sioux Lookout areas.
Officials say the aerial survey is the most important source of
information for understanding the status of the local Moose herd and the MNR
has found that many of the bulls have already lost their antlers.
The observations are expected to continue the next couple of weeks
and once the results are reviewed, Adult Moose Validation Tag quotas
for the area will be set for the 2005 Fall Hunt.
