The Ministry of Natural Resources ‘Moose Watch’ campaign has paid off
for officials in Northwestern Ontario.
The MNR received twice as many calls as it did last year and all but
2% were obeying the law this Fall.
Spokesperson Charlie Todesco runs down the final regional stats.
Todesco says 35 moose were shot and abandoned and another 42 unlawfully
hunted animals seized across the region.
Todesco says just over 400 charges were laid or are pending in the
Northwest district.
