The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters says there has been a
large increase in the number of bears since the cancellation of the spring
bear hunt.
Biologist Terry Quinney says the Fall Hunt simply hasn’t made up for
the loss.
Quinney says about 1,500 fewer bruins are killed each year and
that’s resulted in more nuisance bear complaints.
