More Black History To be Taught In Schools

Black History is to be a bigger part of learning in the classroom.

The province is striking up a partnership with the African Canadian National Coalition against Hate, Oppression and Racism.

The group will provide the learning materials and staff training for Black History to be included in Social Studies for elementary level grades and History and Geography for grade 7 and 8 students.

The contribution of Black people to Canadian history dates back to as far as the 1,600s.
