More Demands For National Inquiry

The leader of the federal Liberals says the Prime Minister is out of touch over his refusal to call an inquiry into missing and murdered women in Canada.
According to the RCMP, there are nearly 1,200 active cases involving aboriginal women who disappeared or were victims of homicide.
Justin Trudeau says Stephen Harper is on the wrong side of history and is out of touch with Canadians on the issue.
During a meeting of premiers last week in P.E.I., there was unanimous consensus by the provinces and territories to launch an inquiry.
Ontario’s Regional Chief, Stan Beardy, is also calling on the Harper government to action.
Beardy has expressed his support for the recent National Roundtable.
He says it’s a social problem in Canada, and that First Nations people are tired of waiting for the federal government to do something.
The call for action comes following the murder of 15-year-old Tina Fontaine.
