More Home Instruction For Special Needs Students

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is now offering more home instruction for special needs students.
The school board says it is increasing the number of at-home instruction hours with a tutor from 7.5 to 15 hours per week.
Board Chair Barb Hancock says the additional cost will be funded through strike savings.
About 40 special needs students have not been allowed to attend school since a strike by more than 200 education assistants, librarians and office workers began in early November.
Education assistants typically help students with special needs in the classroom.
However, at least one Dryden parent says 15 hours of instruction per week is still not enough for special needs children.
