The Rockex St. Joeseph Project near Sioux Lookout has some more details.
The plant plans to produce Hot-Briquetted Iron which would make them the first in Canada to do so.
Spokesperson Tammy Lehtinen says there are challenges with the project like the declining price of iron and the securing of a strategic partner.
Lehtinen adds that the project will create over 700 direct jobs in the area.
