More Layoffs

More downtime in the Region.
Abitibi-Consolidated has announced that the Kenora Mill will be shutdown from December 12th to January 6th.
Mill Manager Derrick Lindgren says the downtime is market related as the Company tries to balance its newsprint supplies.
In Thunder Bay, nearly 350 workers from various Buchanen Forest Products companies will be laid off at the end of the week.
Weather is to blame for a shortage of logs.
The shutdowns are expected to last 2 to 3 weeks.
