More Money For Local School Boards

Local school boards will see an increase in funding next school year.

Specific allocations under the Grants for Students Needs program come about three months later than usual due to COVID-19.

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board will be getting $82.8 million in the 2020-2021 school year, compared to almost $81 million this past year.

The Northwest Catholic District School Board will be receiving $24.3 million compared to $23.5 in 2019-2020.

The Kenora Catholic School Board is getting just over $25 million compared to $23.8 million.

The school boards have until August 19th to submit their budgets to the Ministry of Education.
