More Monty

Bruce Montague is back on the witness stand for a second day at his criminal trial on 47 firearms charges.

Montague’s lawyer, Doug Christie has been going one by one through all the charges.

Montague talked about why some of the firearms had been
modified to become automatic weapons.

He says he altered the guns as a form of protest, because
he felt the new federal firearms act was going to far and
was basically taking away the rights of Canadians to own guns.

Montague also says he wasn’t hurting anyone by modifying the weapons and he never took them off of his property.

He is expected to be on the stand for the rest of the day.
