The City of Kenora has requested a hearing from the
Ontario Civillian Commission on Police Services.
The commission will look at the OPP’s policing modle and
decide whether it’s effective and adequate for the
municipality.
Councillor Andrew Poirier doesn’t expect any changes to
be made to the original OPP bid.

A disbandment hearing for the municipal police force
could be held in Kenora within the next 3 months.
The commission’s decision is expected to be made within
30 days of the actual hearing date.
