More Snow For Family Day Long Weekend

The weather forecast for the Family Day long weekend isn’t looking very promising.

More snow is on the way as the region gets hit with another Alberta Clipper.

Gerald Cheng from Environment Canada says we can expect more snow and cold conditions over the next couple of days.

“We are looking at a system that is bringing another 2 to 4 centimeters (of snow) plus the gusty winds, just enough gusts to make it difficult to see on the road,” says Cheng.

Cheng adds to make matters worse, there’s another system Saturday that could drop even more snow.

“Late Saturday into Sunday morning, that’s going to bring up to 10 centimeters of snow and again it will be gusty so if you do have to travel Saturday night or Sunday morning, just be careful out there.”

The Extreme Cold Warning is also still in effect today and into the weekend for some areas.
