More then 5,000 Eligible for Settlement

Residential school survivors across Northwestern Ontario will receive
their cash settlements later this year or early 2008.
Some 5,000 survivors across the region will see payments of
$10,000 and up.
Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services says former students can now apply for the settlement
and if they can provide proof of extreme sexual, physical or psychological abuse, the payment could be
higher.
Survivors can call the Legal Service toll-free at 1-800-465-5581.
