The Ministry of Natural Resources says the fire situation in northwestern Ontario is starting to heat up.
The fire hazard ranges anywhere from high to extreme.
Fire information officer Travis Moffatt says over the past couple of days fire crews have responded to 14 wild fires and more activity is expected in the days ahead.

The largest active fire in the region is a 35 hundred hectare blaze northeast of Lake Nipigon. Its not threatening any communities at this point.
