Most Federal Candidates Respond To 2SLGBTQIA+ Survey

Most of the region’s federal candidates have responded to a questionnaire from area groups representing the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Rainbow Alliance Dryden, Borderland Pride and Rainbow Collective of Thunder Bay asked for candidates stances on a variety of issues.

Borderland Pride’s Doug Judson says the results were not all that surprising.

“I don’t think so, I mean what we see in the survey questionnaire and the responses we received from candidates across the region is a real openness I think to the concerns that impact equity-seeking people and LGTQ people,” says Judson.

Judson says only the Conservative candidate for Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding did not respond.

“I think it’s important for all candidates to be able to take a position and share with the community what their views are on these important issues. But so far we’ve been unable to get any indication from the candidate.”

The People’s Party of Canada candidates in the Kenora, Thunder-Rainy River and Superior North Ridings were not contacted.

Kenora Riding Candidates Results can been read below.
