Mount Carmel has completed a three year Ministry of
Education “turn around” project.
The Province’s Literacy & Numeracy Secretariat provided
funding for the project at the Catholic elementary school.
Lakehead University Dean Julia O’Sullivan worked with
local teachers and says their hard work has improved Grade
3&6 EQAO test results.

Classrooms at Mount Carmel are covered wall to wall with
words, and teachers use custom created curriculum for
their students.
