MP Calls For Changes To Rail Transportation

A call is being made for changes to the laws that govern train transportation.
Speaking on CTV News, Thunder Bay-Superior North Independent MP Bruce Hyer says this weekend’s fiery derailment in Alberta should be a wake-up call for the Harper government.
He says it’s quite clear that there’s under-regulation and under-investment in the infrastructure, and it’s time to turn things around.
Regulators have told Hyer that their funds and personnel have been cut.
Hyer is calling on the government to develop a national rail strategy.
