The local MPP is voicing her thoughts on the proposed sales tax hike and gas price increase to fund infrastructure upgrades for Toronto and Hamilton.
Kenora-Rainy River’s Sarah Campbell says the government needs to look at issues facing the entire province.
Campbell says the government needs to look at infrastructure concerns province-wide and find new streams of revenue.
She says we can’t keep going back to taxpayers to pay for upgrades.
Campbell says the government has a year to debate the proposal.
The proposal would increase the sales tax by 1% and include a new 5 cents per litre gas tax.
