Kenora-Rainy River MPP Sarah Campbell says local businesses support an annual change to the minimum wage.
Campbell says that was a resounding theme during a pre-budget consultation in Thunder Bay.
She says no one called for a wage freeze.
Campbell calls the $11 an hour minimum wage a good first step.
She notes someone working 8-hours a day every week, that will leave a family about $6,000 short of the poverty line.
Campbell is also calling for support for local businesses to help off-set some of the costs.
