MTO Hoping For Smoother Winter

The Ministry of Transportation says their contractors for winter road maintenance are making changes for the upcoming season.
Regional Director Ian Smith says last winter was harsh and they’ve learned lessons from it.
Smith says the MTO has been working with contractors to adjust their routes.
He says they have added more staff to oversee winter road maintenance in the months ahead.
The MTO received numerous complaints last winter about poor road conditions across the region.
