Ontario’s Ombudsman is seeing more transparency within Ontario’s municipalities and school boards.
Oversight into them was turned over to the Ombudsman’s office two years ago.
Paul Dube says the number of complaints received is far lower than what it was before and most have been resolved.
Over the past year, Dube’s office looked into 13 complaints about municipalities from the Kenora and Rainy River district, and six involving area school boards.
Dube says public institutions should welcome complaints as its the best source of feedback.
