Municipal Election Preview

Taking a look at the election battle in Dryden.
It’s a two person race for Mayor with Craig Nuttal challenging incumbent Anne Krassilowsky.
It’s a full list for Council, with only 6-positions up for grabs.
Martin MacKinnon, Krag Schmidt, Richard Jonasson, Joe Delaney, Mel Fisher, Mary Trist, Adam Riley, Ken Moss, Gary Case, Mike Wood and Brian Collins are all on the list.
Ed Arnold and David Wilkenson are in the running for 1-public School board position.
Robert Van Oort and Kathy Bryck are acclaimed for the Catholic School Board.
The Municipal Election in Machin is going to be interesting with 3-people running for Mayor.
Incumbent Garry Parkes is being challenged by Linda Anderson and Gordon Dingman.
Running for council include; Dennis Peterson, Laurie Huffman, Paul Kelly, Tonya Kelly, Tonya Slater, Gordon Griffiths, Lloyd Chandler, Joseph Ruete, John Wheeler, Ronald Kujansuu and David Marion.
A new Mayor will be elected in Sioux Lookout.
Kathy Poling is not seeking re-election, opening the door to 3-candidates.
Doug Lawrance, Dennis Leney and Susan Williams are vying for the top position.
4 Councilors will be elected and the group includes; Joyce Timpson, Herb Zettel, Tony Derose, David Gordon, John Bath, Doug Squires, David Allen and Sharon Schinke.
Ear Falls is also voting-in a new Mayor.
Rob Doyle, Kevin Kahoot and Tracey Simon are vying for the main seat.
Current Mayor Jim Demarais is running for Council along with Ron Bergman, Devon Buckler, Lawrence Doudiet, Rob Eady, Fred Melanson, Vic Robinson and David Wilson.
A new Mayor will be elected in Ignace.
With Lionel Cloutier stepping aside, Dianne Loubier and Lee Kennard have come forward for the communities top post.
Running for Council are Dennis Smyk, Sherrill Musclow, Kim Crossley, Al Graver, Ron Curtis, Greg Gothard, Philip Gauthier, Larry Fraser and Chicki Pesola.
Red Lake residents will vote-in a new Council.
11-people are on the list for a Council seat including Jason Baker, Anne Billard, Thomas Doherty, Ken Forsythe, Steen Jensen, Brian Larson, Alexander Middleton, Paul Parsons, Alana Procyk, Lynne Rasmussen and Debra Shushack.
Phil Vinet has been acclaimed Mayor.
