Some extra cash in the pocket of local communities as they will be paying less this year for Ontario Works, social housing, child care and land ambulance services.
The Kenora District Services Board has managed to reduce the municipal levy by nearly 11%.
Communities will be paying a total of $13.7-million this year
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says an increase in provincial funding in some areas allowed them to pass the savings along to municipalities.
The Municipal rate for unincorporated communities dropped 18%, the most of any members.
