The Board of the Northwestern Health Unit has decided to freeze the
Municipal Levy at $54 per capita next year.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pete Sarsfield says increased funding
from the Province allowed them to hold the line on any hike.
Sarsfield notes they are still waiting to see how much more money they
will be getting from the province next year.
He says they could expect anywhere from a $750,000 increase to over a million more in funding.
Sarsfield says they will have more money to spend on mandatory programs.
He notes that this Region still has the highest per capita levy in Ontario.
