A Southern Ontario Municipality wants its northern
counterparts to lobby the Province for more infrastructure
funding.
The resolution from Grenville, asks the McGuinty
Government to commit 1/8th of the 8% Provincial sales tax
to Municipal Infrastructure Programs.
The proposal states all Ontario communities are having a
hard time obtaining sufficient funding for their projects.
Kenora has endorsed the resolution, copies of the
document have been sent to the Premier, the Minister of
Finance, NDP Leader Howard Hampton and PC Leader John Tory.
