The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is facing a 50-thousand dollar fine after two violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
A Ministry of Labour spokesperson says the town failed to report that a municipal worker was injured on the job while unloading crates of glass.
The employee suffered broken bones to his leg when one of the crates landed on him.
The ministry spokesperson adds an investigation also found that the municipality did not have a sufficient system of information, instruction and supervision on health and safety for its workers.
