Museum App Receives Provincial Award

The Sioux Lookout Community Museum has received the Ontario Museum Association’s Award of Excellence in Publications.
The award is for the Museum’s mobile app which was launched in August 2013.
Culture and Communications Manager Brian MacKinnon says the app enables them to connect to people who might not be able to visit the museum.
Users of the app can browse selections from the Museum’s collections and each artifact includes a high definition, zoom-able photograph and text description.
The app is available for free for Apple devices and Android phones and tablets.
MacKinnon stress it has been well received.
