NAFN Tournament Set To Begin In Kenora

A total of 36 teams from across northwestern Ontario and Manitoba will be competing in this year’s 27th North American First Nations Tournament of Champions.

Action in the four day tournament begins Thursday night on two fronts, the Keewatin Memorial Arena and the Kenora Rec. Center.

There are 16 teams in the Open Division this year including the defending champions, the Eagle Lake Chiefs.

This year the women’s division features 12 teams and there are also 8 in the oldtimers.

New for this year will be a show case game Sunday afternoon featuring players 13 and under.

The finals will take place Sunday afternoon and evening at the Rec. Center.
