The Nishnawbe Aski Nation is calling the current state of the First Nation Education system a crisis.
Deputy Grand Chief Terry Waboose says they are underfunded.
Waboose says the Federal Government needs to start matching education funds for First Nations at the same level the Province funds public school boards.
Waboose says education under the Indian Act has failed remote First Nation communities.
NAN has come out with a set of recommendations for the Federal and Provincial Governments about the so-called crisis.
