The Nishnawbe Aski Nation says it’s critical that it receive permission to take part in a Thunder Bay inquest into the deaths of seven NAN students.
Grand Chief Harvey Yesno says NAN’s participation is critical.
He says they are often called because of their advocacy role for First Nations.
NAN represents 49-First Nation communities and Yesno says they must play a part.
The Thunder Bay Police Services Board, the families of the deceased and the City of Thunder Bay also want to take part.
