The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service is feeling optimistic following a
meeting with the Province’s Minister of Community Safety and Correctional
Services.
NAN Officials discussed infrastructure issues with Monte Kwinter
earlier this week.
Chief of Police Paul Trivett says a second meeting has been lined up
later this month with both levles of senior government.
Currently only 1 of 35 Detachments in NAN Territory meets building
code standards.
The Police Service is the largest Aboriginal Force in Canada with 106
uniformed staff and 30 civilian staff.
