Tate Sproxton has come up short in his bid to become the first netminder in Dryden franchise history to win the SIJHL’s Top Goaltender award.
Sproxton, who led the SIJHL in wins this season, was narrowly edged out by Nathan Park of the Fort Frances Lakers.
Greg Harney of English River was also a nominee.
Park led all goalies in goals-against average at 1.92, save percentage at .931 and shutouts at 3.
He was also named a CCM first team all-star.
Park becomes the fifth Fort Frances-based goalie to win the award.
He won the award despite playing only half of the season with Fort Frances.
