Saturday is the National Day of Remberance.
On December 6 1989, 14-young women were tragically killed at L’Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.
Ceremonies are being held across Northwestern Ontario on, including Sioux Lookout. Residents are asked to attend the Nishnawbe-Gamik Friendship Center at 2 o’clock.
The Dryden event will be held at 6:00pm at City Hall.
And in Red Lake there will be a commemorative display at the Red Lake Heritage Center at dark.
The day allows Northerners to stop and remember women who have lost their lives through violence.
