The federal government is looking to stay the course with it’s most recent Fall Economic Statement.
Kenora M.P. Bob Nault says the economic conditions in Canada right now are very strong and they want to maintain that momentum.
He adds they have been able to make some progress on their deficit.
“We’re leading the G-7 in deficit reduction,” says Nault.
“It’s not like we’re not thinking about it, but we think the most important thing now is to grow our economy and so we’ve foregone getting a balanced for now and running a small deficit…and a small deficit because it’s basically the same size as Ontario’s.”
Nault says they want to create open borders, not only in Canada but globally to improve trade opportunities for Canadian business.
