Trustees with the Northwest Catholic District School Board have approved the 2014-2015 budget.
The more than 22.4 million dollar fiscal document contains no program cuts and includes an increase in revenue of 5 per cent and a 4 per cent increase in expenses.
Director of Education Rick Boisvert says staff focused on student achievement and the development of the strong faith of communities in the schools, when drafting the budget.
Boisvert says the Board plans to hire additional special education teachers, educational assistants and will be creating a new Child and Youth Care worker position.
The Board is projecting a 6 million dollar surplus at the end of the fiscal year.
Boisvert adds the Board also plans to spend $925,000 on capital projects.
