The NDP is supporting a call from the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association calling on the government to reverse its decision to sell-off Hydro One.
Andrea Horwath and NOMA President Dave Canfield are both calling for public hearings.
Horwath says the decision is short-term gain for long-term pain.
NOMA states since the majority of Association members are customers of the provincial utility, there’s grave concern about how the sale will impact northern communities.
The Premier reiterates money generated will help offset infrastructure improvements.
