NDP Critic Demanding Government Action

Lobbying efforts continue to keep the Thunder Bay generating station open.
NDP MPP Gilles Bisson says the plant can play a major role in addressing the region’s energy needs.
Bisson is urging the provincial government to begin work on converting the coal plant to natural gas.
He says “the project should be on the books and ready to go.”
Bisson notes the budding mining sector can’t flourish in the north without a sufficient supply of electricity.
He stresses the government needs to follow through with its energy plans.
Bisson says the conversation of the plant will be his main focus when the MPP’s return to Toronto next month.
