NDP Critic Says Liberals Mismanaged The ROF

The NDP Northern Development and Mines Critic believes the government is mismanaging the Ring of Fire.
Michael Mantha says the announcement by Cliffs Natural Resources that they are suspending their environmental assessment paints a clear picture of how the Wynne government is handling this project.
He says if they’re going to start something of this magnitude, it should have been started with proper consultation and meaningful discussions with communities and First Nations that will be affected.
He adds a lot of communities near the Ring of Fire were looking forward to the economic development, but now that’s being put on hold.
Mantha goes on to say Premier Kathleen Wynne seems more focused on the gas plant scandal in southern Ontario then the Ring of Fire, and that the government needs to stand up and show some leadership.
