NDP Leader Looks at Downloading

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Howard Hampton is calling on the Province to
start uploading the costs of municipal services such as social assistance
and senior housing.
The NDP Leader feels the only way the Liberals will follow through on a
promise to stop Provincial downloading is if Municipalities ban together.
Hampton adds the McGuinty Liberals already has a $971-million
revenue surplus, but refuses to upload some municipal services.
He says Provincial downloading was one of the main topics at the
recent Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference in Ottawa.
