NDP Leader on Electricity Prices

Electricity costs our spiraling out of control in Ontario.
So says NDP Leader Andrea Horwath who raised the issue in the Legislature Monday.
Horwath says soaring rates not only impacts homeowners but handcuffs the forest industry.
Horwath read a letter from a Dryden resident who stated that her hydro bill has gone up 30-40% with the addition of the Harmonized Sales Tax.
She says the Liberals have already crippled families by adding 8% to home heating bills and filling up at the gas pumps.
Horwath says an NDP Government would remove the HST from hydro and heating as well as regulate gas prices.
She says her Party will also have a specific platform on how it plans to help Northern Ontario take full advantage of its assets.
