NDP Leader Howard Hampton stresses Northern communities have suffered
for far too long.
The Kenora-Rainy River MPP is demanding the Provincial Government take
immediate action to help the struggling forest sector.
Hampton says a repositioning strategy is needed now.
He says its only a matter of time when forestry workers move
out-of-province to find work in the same industry.
Just over 1,000 people in Dryden, Atikokan, Hudson, Kenora, Wawa
and Thunder Bay received temporary lay-off notices this week.
