The NDP is taking the government to task on the proposed sale of Hydro One.
A report released Thursday by the Financial Accountability Officer shows the sale will fall well short of revenues projected by the Liberals.
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says this is a make or break moment for the Premier as “anybody in their right mind” would back away from this deal.
Horwath says Kathleen Wynne has shown “utter arrogance” in response to the issue.
The report says the sale will only create about $1.4-billion for infrastructure, well short of the estimated $4-billion.
It adds the province will be at a financial disadvantage in the long run.
Horwath calls the deal bad for Ontario.
The NDP is also steaming mad over the leak of the report.
It was released to the media before the opposition ever saw it.
Horwath says this is typical of the Liberal government.
The Financial Accountability Officer swears the leak didn’t come from his office so Horwath believes it came from someone from within the Ministry of Energy or Finance, because they are the only ones who received advance copies.
