Federal NDP leader Thomas Mulcair is wondering if the new Liberal government will be able to keep its election promises.
It comes in the wake of a report from the finance minister saying the government is heading for a $3-billion deficit instead of a $2.4-billion surplus.
Mulcair says the economic update only makes him wonder which path the government plans to take.
He believes the Liberals have three options; back track on their promises for change, run larger deficits on the backs of future generations or cut public services even further.
Mulcair believes the options aren’t progressive and will hurt Canadian families expecting change.
